Lean against… and listen ~ Sister Spider

My writing mind is empty, therefore I will lean against the back of our sofa and listen to the storyteller. If you want to join me, here is how it goes:

Lean Against … And Listen

I quote Kasey Mathews from the WANA group “Write to heal” for this writing prompt: “With paper and pen, or computer handy, lean back in your chair, or against the wall, or a sofa etc., close your eyes and imagine you are sitting under a large tree with your back resting against the trunk. On the other side of the tree, a Storyteller has come to sit down and also rest against the tree trunk. With eyes still closed, just listen. Wait for the Storyteller to begin his or her story. When you hear it begin, simply write down all that you hear. “

Sister Spider

A fear I know so well. A fear I have written about so many times in so many forms. But how could the demons enter this sanctuary? The storyteller is nowhere to be seen. I take little Morgaine in my arms and sigh. From up the oak leaves, sister spider lets herself down with her thread. “Not everything is like it seems,” she said. Sometimes it is just an illusion. And sometimes it is just which conclusions we have drawn that create a demon!” She let herself down on little Morgaine’s shoulder. Her little face had lit up as soon as she heard sister spiders voice. Little Morgaine turned towards me and said: “Did you know that sister spider brought us the alphabet?” I did not so I shook my head. “And did you know” the little one goes on “that she is the one who brings us stories?” Again I shook my head. “But isn’t the river, giving us stories?” I ask …
