Another stormy morning over Norfolk in the UK and I am glad I can stay indoors and do some writing. Today’s prompt sounds like a challenge but I’ll letย @FrauPaulchen explain:
(this is my translation ofย @FrauPaulchen’s post yesterday in German)
i give you the prompt for tomorrow a little earlier. because: maybe you need one or two little hours more, (even though especially sponatanous texts can be pretty charming).ย
the prompt for the poem on 6. may is: “only words from two pages are allowed”. you may chose words from two pages of a novel, a newspaper or any other longer text for your poem. which “start text” (scientific text, novel, manual…) and which words you chose for your poem is up to you. the only condition: that which isn’t in those two pages can’t be in your poem – only exeption: verbs: we allow conjugations of verbs. (and no: I do not check on you but I know you are honest skins….) ย
this prompt is a present from the page “poetry month scouts” because of national poetry month which takes place in April. i believe a trying out of this prompt is worth for #frapalymo and our #frapalymoists! have fun all of us – i am off to find a start text….ย
and the small print: please let me know via email or Twitter, if you take part. then i can post the link to your blog/poem on Twitter. or post the link in the comments under the daily prompt post on my blog. hashtag for Twitter isย #frapalymoย and I amย @FrauPaulchen
Suggestions for taking part in the English version of #frapalymo
1. read translation ofย @FrauPaulchen’s prompt here on Bee’s blog
2. write your English (German if you can/want to) poem on your blog and tag it with “English #frapalymo”
3. use the “English #frapalymo” picture if you want to
4. set a link to the translated prompt here on Bee’s blog
5. visit other links posted here and if you want to/can those posted with the hashtag #fapalymo on Twitter
6. The Bee will post your link to the German #frapalymo and translate for you if you want to
It already has become a multi-country/language project! Thanks!!!!!
Please head over toย Nortina Marielaย andย Helen Espinosaย to find English #frapalymo poems.
Andย @petitepoetry on Twitter too:
You trade the milky way away For the street lights and the bars But you may meet @McConaughey Or some other earthly star #frapalymo 2 #atx

The two pages I have chosen are from “The Rough Guide To Europe on a Budget” page 200 & page 670:
And this is what I made of it:
A city never seen
the chef
tough on beer
brought ironworks
and tourists
to
the city
sprucing up for
European Capital
of Culture
which
looks like
melted butter
and fruit
dumplings.
Normans, French
and Spanish
remain in
a bustling city
enlarged
by the centuries
of churches and domes
and bombs.

Now that clearly was a challenge. Especially as I usually do not use non-fiction texts. But that was fun too!
