Another week and another crazy poetry prompt is over: Last week I asked you my fellow day jobbers to create a Wordle word cloud with your favourite poem. The next step was to find the 4 most highlighted words to create a new poem with those.

ChapTer Kronfeld

Rose has not taken part this week I am afraid but I am honoured to introduce you to ChapTer Kronfeld (artist name) a German artists whom I met via @FrauPaulchen’s #frapalymo. He is a blogger at UZDZ who writes poetry but also creates installations in the virtual world. I add a video by Moewe Winkler at the end where you can see one of his installations.

His poems and haiku have impressed me while translating for #frapalymo this May and occupied me a lot. He writes in German but has given permission for me to translate the poem:

Words in the cloud

words on paper pretty
I wrote them with a heart full of pain
for you reader
for you to know
that real commitment
is called love

(the poem rhymes in German but I could not get it that way in English sorry)

You can find the original poem on his blog (the link is above the video). There is the Google Translation tool on the top right side of his blog so the language barrier should be less a problem. I know google translate is not perfect but at least it gives you an idea :-).

W.H. Auden and me

I have chosen one of my favourites by W. H. Auden. He went to school in Norfolk (where I now live) and I love his poetry since I watched “Four Weddings and a Funeral”. That is where I first heard “Stop All the Clocks”. The last sentence keeps a deep hold of me and that is how I will feel if my husband goes before me: “For nothing now can come to any good!”
