Top Gear on “The Day Jobbers Essential Poetry Prompt”

This post was first published in July 2015 and I re-post it at the original date. Feel free to still use the prompt even though the event is over:

A new Wednesday and a new “The Day Jobbers Essential Poetry Prompt”. Today shall lead you to one of my favourite TV programmes. Yes, again I just can’t get away from the telly.

Jeremy Clarkson

It stopped a few weeks ago because one of its presenters decided it’s a good way of behaving to assault his producers. Well, some just never grow up and Jeremy Clarkson apparently has not made this jump yet. Or more he keeps that persona for the program as I believe.

Top Gear

Top Gear as I believe means using the highest gear and being really fast. That was what the car program Top Gear was all about: Fast cars and lots of fun challenges. Of course, there was some advice on regular cars too but what everybody loved was their crazy tours all around the world and funny car challenges. What excites most people is the expensive supercars that the three presenters drive to show us how gorgeous these cars are. And we all could imagine for a little while how cool it would be if we could afford one.

A vast jump from a car program to a poem but well, “The Day Jobbers Essential Poetry Prompt” is not meant to be boring. A good old challenge keeps your creative juices flowing.

And no it won’t be a poem about cars.

This week’s “The Day Jobbers Essential Poetry Prompt” is about your dreams. This week’s poem will be an ode to our dreams. Where did you always want to go to? What did you want to do and what did you want to achieve? Or still want to.

Go crazy. Go to your deepest self and allow it to come to the surface.

And here is how to:

  • Read “The Day Jobbers Essential Poetry Prompt” on “The Bee Writes…” on Wednesdays
  • Write your poem as close or far from the prompt as you feel comfortable
  • Post it on your blog or here in the comment section or both
  • You have time for that until the next Tuesday
  • Use “The Day Jobbers Essential Poetry Prompt” picture if you want to
  • Go and read another “Day Jobbers Essential Poetry Prompt” Poem from the comments
  • Most of all have lots of fun
