A “The Day Jobbers Essential Poetry Prompt” Poem

This post was first published in October 2015 and I re-post it on that date:
I haven’t written a poem in about two months or so. Feels a bit like cold turkey after a year of writing a poem practically daily.

Something’s shifting inside of me, and it is not my love for poetry. That has not changed. My writing might not be Nobel Prize worthy but it’s fun to express myself and who doesn’t like it doesn’t need to read it.

It is more a feeling that I allow myself to be who I am with all the good bits and the flaws. That is nothing that happens overnight. It’s a process.

One thing I am quite proud of is that little voice inside of me that always gets me up and running again when life got me down.

So I decided to honor that voice and invite other poets to verse about what keeps them going. You can find the prompt here.

My poem is nothing special, and it’s quite short but well. Creativity has many forms of expressing itself :-).

Don’t

hellbound
my thoughts
buried
my feelings
yet
hope urges
DON’T give up
DON’T give in
don’t
