Yesterday I let you know, that Music Monday Blog Party is transforming. The reason for it is a sense of “itโs not on the spot for what I have planned it for”.
My idea was, to invite my fellow humans to give themselves some me time at the beginning of the week. The reasoning was: if you do something good for yourself at the beginning of the week, the whole week will have a positive atmosphere, and it will go much more smoothly. It was also born out of my wish to share my transformation towards more self-esteem. A journey to healing is always better when itโs shared.
I donโt get the feeling though, that I presented it in a way that works for you people out there. So I put my thinking cap on and wondered why that might be. Here are my thoughts on it:
~ There is just not enough time on a Monday to give yourself some me-time
~ You might work shifts, and work really early on a Monday. It feels you canโt take part.
~ You feel its too short in general and donโt have time to take part
~ My suggestions on how to take part are not specific enough
~ You would like to have more suggestions on how to create this me-time
~ There are just too many blog parties out there, and you do not need another one
~ I am too much of a blog vagabond, so you donโt bother anymore to follow me around
~ You donโt have a problem with self-esteem and self-love and donโt need this me-time
~ The title is blah~ Itโs simply too personal, and you donโt want to share it with anybody
~ You are not interested in Music
~ The image is blah
Of course, I can only guess what might be your reason. All those I came up with, are fair enough and legitimate. However, I believe this celebrating of yourself at the beginning of the week is a good habit to develop so I would like to keep this blog event going, and put it into a form that appeals to you.
I have some ideas on how Music Monday Blog Party could change, but itโs you who I am interested in. So would you mind, to let me know, what would entice you to take part, and share your journey to more self-love with the blogging community? Feel free, to be brutally honest. Itโs nothing personal. Itโs an idea I have because I believe the world needs more self-love so we can go out and stand up for all those topics we need to stand up for. So we are going to live in a better future.
If you donโt know what the Music Monday Blog Party is, have a look here. You find all previous posts to be able to make up your mind.
Please, leave your ideas in the comments. There is time until Sunday. I am looking forward to your comments and ideas!
And in good old Music Monday Blog Party fashion I share a song with you ๐
This song is dedicated to the best husband (Jeremy Clarkson voice) in the world who unfortunately doesn’t like Billy Joel but Joel’s songs so often describe how I feel about him. And he certainly gives me the honesty I need :-).
Honesty
Billy Joel
If you search for tenderness
It isn’t hard to find
You can have the love you need to live
But if you look for truthfulness
You might just as well be blind
It always seems to be so hard to give
Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you
I can always find someone
To say they sympathize
If I wear my heart out on my sleeve
But I don’t want some pretty face
To tell me pretty lies
All I want is someone to believe
Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you
I can find a lover
I can find a friend
I can have security until the bitter end
Anyone can comfort me
With promises again
I know, I know
When I’m deep inside of me
Don’t be too concerned
I won’t ask for nothin’ while I’m gone
But when I want sincerity
Tell me where else can I turn
‘Cause you’re the one I depend upon
Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you

I have to say I liked how you presented it. I get behind so sometimes don’t see the posts on a Monday, but that’s on me, not you. I do like to participate when I can though. And I always will. Music is a love of mine so, and yeah its a super idea to celebrate life and our lives! So I say keep going, keep doing what your doing! You are appreciated! โค

Since you’ve started Music Monday Blog Parties I immediately loved the idea, I think it’s such a cool combination to celebrate our life and our achievements, to develop ourselves generally, while at the same time appreciating good music, it really speaks to me because listening to my favourite music has always been an important part of my self care and my mental well-being in general. I guess I missed a few of your parties, but I was pretty inconsistent in blogging in general lately, or so I feel, barely doing anything more than my series, and I also started a weekly series that was consuming my mind, but I will happily take part in the next one. Honestly I don’t know how we could make these parties even better, I feel like people have often issues with caring for themselves, with caring about their mental development, I don’t know, maybe it should be somehow more motivating? Or maybe rather inspirational? Like, dunno, some sself care activities that you would suggest people every week, that all the participants could do together in the way that fits them, I mean some people need some more prompting to actually engage in something, that’s at least what I sometimes see. I know it sounds a bit wishy-washy as I don’t have a clear idea myself how it could really look more inspirational and what these activities could be, because our lives look so different, but I believe if we’d think more about it it could become more clear.
Also, indeed it really made me wonder why so few people take part in your parties as they’re so brilliant. And I feel maybe the thing is that just not enough people know about them? Maybe if each of us participants could reblog your post, it could help draw more attention to it? Or there are some places on WordPress, I believe, where there are various blog events, I believe Cee at Ceenphotography has one on her blog, so maybe you could let her know about it and she could add your party to the list and more people would know? I guess there can be many many ways to make more people notice it and become interested, I myself am quite a beginner to these things though so I’m not sure if I can give you many suggestions as for that since you’re blogging longer than me. ๐
Keep going, anyway, it’s a really good idea, and whether you’ll decide to change it somehow or not, I believe people will convince with time, it’s just fabulous.

Hi Emilia, thanks a lot for your feedback. And also thank you for taking part on such a regular basis. Making it more known is probably one point. I have seen Cee’s blog and will check it out. And your suggestion of sharing more self-caring actions plus being more motivating were two things I thought of too. I am glad you like the connection with celebrating ourselves and music. Music is one thing that always motivates me. And please do not put your blogging light under the bushel. I think you are a natural and I feel honoured to have you take part whenever it fits. ๐

I love music, too and would enjoy this if I remembered to do it. At the same time and totally independent of anything you’re doing, I’ve been thinking I need to cut back on my posting to give attention to other things. That doesn’t mean I would not participate. I still might join in. Best wishes!

Hi JoAnna, I fully understand. One idea was to encourage readers to share their experience in comments without a blogpost. That gives you the chance to get some self love but not having to post. Thanks for your feedback!

It’s nice to have options! ๐ I’m thinking also about how I can remember. I don’t follow blogs by email anymore because my inbox got to be too much to handle. I don’t mind getting an email once a month for the We Are The World Blog fest which happens on the last ? or fourth Friday of each month.

I can give you a reminder on your blog with the link to the post ๐๐ฑ

Thank you! That would increase the likelihood if you want to do that. โค
