So, I had a phone conversation with my bank which went fairly well even though it needed over 45 minutes. They were very helpful, however, they hit up all my anxieties about money and as I, of course, hadn’t had my St. Johnswort the day before I went down the “I can’t deal with this” spiral. I had planned for yesterday to schedule any posts I can schedule for this week so I have some time to work on my “The Bee Creates” project but that wall hit me and I just wanted to hide under the duvet and most of all quit any challenges I so enthusiastically have started in the last couple of weeks.

Well, been there, done that, got the t-shirt! And that is exactly where I do not want to go AGAIN. What did I do. Posted some old posts for yesterday. Helped the husband move some wood from our garden to the shed to start getting a grip on the rat infestation. Made myself a cup of St. Johnswort tea.

My experience is that if I give in to that feeling that I can’t deal with any of the things I want to do then I have lost to the black dog. I have also experiences of doing too much which has as bad an effect. Usually, I need to give myself a little time and figure out what the right thing is at that precise moment. This time it’s a compromise. #Whatif needs to wait for a little but I challenge myself to keep doing the other challenges.

So here I am doing my best to share my world today 🙂

Here are Sparks suggestions on how to take part…

‘I will post four or five different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World”  and link it to this post.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.
  4.  Ping-backs are activated and are working well.  For instructions on how ping-backs work, in case you weren’t certain, please click here.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.”

… and here is her prompt post. Find more “Share your World” posts in the comments of her post.

My answers to Spark’s “Share your World” Questions.

Do you prefer Apple (‘I’ products) or Android for your technology ‘fix’?

Android. I can’t remember ever having to use an apple device. I think I have used Itunes at some point but that did not impress me particularly.

What’s something on your personal bucket list?

Travelling far and wide with the best husband (Jeremy Clarkson voice) in the world. The first thing we want to do: Belated honeymoon to Scotland 🙂

What would you name your boat if you had one?   The Unsinkable 3? The Please Don’t Sink? Your choice! Also, what would it look like? Do you want a motor yacht, a sailboat, or perhaps a dinghy?

How on earth does she come up with these questions???? Made me laugh out loud and that’s a very good thing. Well, I would go for one of those Narrowboats on one of the British canals. In fact, before we had the chance to buy the house we considered buying one and do it up. No canal close by so we didn’t. And naming it? “In the deep end” maybe?

Which fictional character would be the most boring to meet in real life?

Whoopsie. My mind has gone blank. Totally. Not sure I would find any fictional character boring to meet. Even the most boring ones could give a little more insight into its story.  I’d like knowing what’s behind them.

And finally:

What brought gratitude, a smile or laughter to your life this week?

So, that is an important one for me today. Practising gratitude is one of my biggest and best “weapons” against the downward spiral. So here we go:

A rescued ex-racer greyhound who gets more and more relaxed and happy in our house

A loving family, that rocks!

Friends who are compassionate.

My health

More or less good home cooking 😉

A woman as Dr Who :-))

Not giving into the darkness…

  1. I’ve been dealing with my own ‘black dog’ recently (S.A.D. season here for me) and so I totally understand. I admire your fortitude to get up and DO THINGS, even though the cozy den of bed and blankets and furballs (in my case) beckon. St. John’s Wort is a wonderful thing…I used to take a pill form of it every day, until other, prescribed medications began to present issues because they didn’t work and play well with the herbal remedy. I sometimes think the holistic approach is best and that I ought to chuck all the expensive prescriptions and just go back to the old ways. Loved your answers and thank you for participating in Share Your World. Mr. Greyhound does look relaxed, what a lovely home he’s found! Thanks! 🙂

    1. Hi Melanie, thanks for commenting. Am so sorry that you have to deal with the black one too. I have found that any “normal” medication makes me worse not better. And yes I tried it for at least 4-6 weeks 😁. The only thing that seems to work for me is stick with the St. Johnswort and keep doing what I do. It’s a struggle to get myself there. But once I managed one little thing the rest follows. St Johnswort is quite potent so it is difficult with other medication. I am healthy otherwise and don’t need to take anything so it works. I only get very light sensitive eyes. So sunlight is no fun. But there are sunglasses. Thanks for your great SYW. That was one thing that saved me yesterday 😚🙋
