Sherky does Song Lyric Sunday

Hello everybody, nice to meet you. I am Sherky. Some of you might have seen me already. Mum did a couple of posts about me throughout the year.

Guess what? Exactly a year ago I arrived here with dad, mum and two-legged sister and brother. It was two-legged sister who made dad and mum come to F.A.I.T.H. to check out doggies and that is why I love her so much. We cuddle a lot when she is here. But she has to go back to her mums after the weekend. Then I lay upstairs and miss her terribly.

But mum and dad love me too. And I love them. Needed some time to get used to living in a house. Never done that before I came here. I learned to hop upstairs and not to steal the cheese sandwich out of the bin. Well, to be honest mum and dad hide the bin in a cupboard now 😉

Mum said it is time now that I introduce myself to you people out there. That’s me helping mum collecting rubbish on our morning walk:

For all those who do not know: I am an ex-racer greyhound from Ireland. But mum and dad found out that I had been racing here in GB too even though the people at F.A.I.T.H. said I haven’t. But I think they didn’t know. We were not treated nice. I don’t tell dad and mum what happened but sometimes I can’t help it when dad makes a fast movement then I jump. Not so much now but in the beginning. And I do not like being shouted at. Sometimes I run upstairs into the bedroom to my bed when I’ve been naughty and mum says “OY!!!” very loudly. That’s my safe place upstairs. And loud laughing scares me too.

But lately, I also can’t help being happy. The two-legs are just so nice and love me so I feel I can be a puppy now. I am only three years old so I am still allowed to jump around. And gosh, I discovered balls. At first, I didn’t understand what to do with them funny round things. But when I found one at the beach I threw it with my mouth and I couldn’t stop running after it and throwing it. It is so much fun!!!!!

I think that is introduction enough. Because mum has given me a job: I am allowed to choose the songs for Song Lyric Sunday. Lovely Helen, over at “THIS THING CALLED LIFE ONE WORD AT A TIME” has done it for a long time but she needs a hiatus. She is not well. Please get well soon, Helen. Mum and I light a candle for you and pray for you a lot.

So Jim over at New Epic Author has been so kind to take over and his first prompt is “doctor/health/medicine” to honour Helen. That is lovely, isn’t it?

I don’t really know much songs yet even though both dad and mum listen to music all the time. But I didn’t know one for that topic. After all, I am just three years old. So mum helped me. She said she loved a song called “911” many, many moons ago and that is what we chose together. So here is the song and the lyrics come afterwards.

“911”
(feat. Mary J. Blige)

[Wyclef]
Yo, what up, this Wyclef with Mary J.
I serenade the girls with my accoustic guitar
You know what I’m sayin’?
Yo, fellas havin’ problems with the chicks?
I want you right now to turn the lights down low
Pull your girl up next to you
I want you to sing this to her

If death comes for me tonight, girl
I want you to know that I love you
And no matter how tough I wouldn’t dare
Only to you I would reveal my tears
So tell the police I ain’t home tonight
Messin’ around with you is gonna get me life
But when I look into your eyes
You’re worth that sacrafice
If this is the kind of love that my mom used to warn me about
Man, I’m in trouble
I’m in real big trouble
If this is the kind of love that the old folks used to warn me about
Man, I’m in trouble
I’m in real big trouble
I need y’all to do me a favor

Someone please call 911 (pick up the phone yo)
Tell them I just been shot down
and the bullet’s, in my heart
And it’s piercin through my soul (I’m losin blood yo)
Feel my body gettin cold
Somone please call 911 (pick up the phone yo)
The alleged assailaint, is five foot one
and she shot me through my soul
Feel my body gettin cold

[Mary J. Blige]
So cold
Sometimes I feel like I’m a prisoner
I think I’m trapped here for a while
(but I’m always right here with you girl)
And every breath I fight to take
Is as hard as these four walls I wanna break
I told the cops you wasn’t here tonight
Messin’ around with me is gonna get you life
Oh yeah, yeah
But everytime I look into your eyes
Then it’s worth the sacrifice

[Wyclef]
If this is the kind of love that your mom used to warn you about
Man, we are in trouble
You’re in real big trouble
If this is the kind of love that the old folks used to warn me about
I’m in trouble
I’m in real big trouble
You got anything to say, girl?

[Mary J. Blige]
Someone please call 911, yeah yeah (pick up the phone yo)
Tell them I just got shot down
And it’s piercin through my soul (I’m losin blood yo)
Feel my body gettin cold

[Wyclef]
Someone please call 911 (can you do that for me)
The alleged assailaint, was five foot one
And she shot me through my soul (and he shot me through my heart)
Feel my body gettin cold
(He didn’t care, he didn’t worry, he didn’t wonder..)

[Wyclef and Mary J. Blige]
I’m feelin you girl
I understand

[Mary J. Blige]
And you’re doin, what you’re doin, would you do it
and do it and do it and do it for me..

So, that is it from me today. Gosh, that’s fun that thing that mum calls “blogging”. Might have to join Misha over at Emilie’s and Dessy over at Shelley’s and do it more often. And maybe Carol Annes’s Nitro joins us too? What do you think?

Have a lovely Sunday evening or morning or afternoon or maybe even Monday morning?????? 🙂

  1. Love it, so nice to meet you, and Dessy approves too! (Copper might be a tad jealous, but he’ll warm up to the idea of another dog with opinions to share!)

It’s Misha, very nice to meet you. 😻 I also like balls and playing with them, but I always lose them somewhere hehehe. And I understand that you are afraid of loud sounds, because I am also afraid of them and sudden movements, or even when someone is just happy and loud like our Zofijka is all the time, Zofijka is my human sister, and my most favourite toy but I am also very scared of her sometimes because she’s so loud. But I’ve always had a good family who cared about me, I’m just so jittery by nature haha. I’m glad that you have your own family now too.
That’s so cool you’re blogging too, I think humans are really cocky that they think only humans can blog. I would have to ask Mila to let me write some more posts too, not just my Mishy posts but some other too and be more in charge of things. Hope you’ll like this blogging thiing more and more. 🙂

      1. Your mum is right, Mila is very nice for me, but sometimes she doesn’t let me do everything I want and that’s a bit sad. Yes, blogging is hard, I always go to sleep straight after I write a post and then sleep for hours and hours. Yes, I had a good night’s sleep and slept on Mila’s bed and got lots of snacks before sleep. Hope you had too. 🙂

  3. =^..^= meow! Hi, Sherky. I’m Cricket the cat, and I’m happy to meet you. I don’t mind big dogs, because when my big sister brings her two big dogs over here, I don’t hiss at them. Nice to meet you, and I like the song you helped choose. Now I must snooze…have fun playing with your tennis ball! 🙂

    1. Hi Cricket, nice to meet you and nice of you not to hiss at big dogs. I’m an ex-racer so I still have to learn that small furry creatures aren’t for hunting. It’s hard because I was trained to do so from a very young age. But I am learning! I like your rhymes. Am not good at rhymes but like reading them. Have a lovely evening. Hope your mum has done treats for you. I had some apple tonight 🙋🐶
