#142 of #365 A Prompt A Day For Bee ~ Sleeping Beauty

February 2019

At this stage of the project, I had been writing a poem a day for nearly 5 months. No wonder I was a little less enthusiastic 🙂

October 2014

I have to admit I am getting a bit tired of this project. Not that I am giving up ~ far from it ~ but my enthusiasm is gone a little. It is a bit disappointing that there are no more prompts from readers or other poets ~ that was really fun, in the beginning, to be challenged to write something that is not inspired by myself. But I can understand that we are busy people and so often we want to do something, but then forget all about it because life has taken over.

Still, if you feel you have something you want me to write about: I would be very glad to hear from you.

Thankfully though my physical exhaustion is leaving me. My iron deficiency is gone with some tablets and relaxing and sleeping more in the last few weeks have done me a world of good. I feel a little like a butterfly just emerging from its chrysalis. “Chrysalis” such a nice word :-). But I am digressing…. today’s poem will be about tiredness in a fairy tale form 🙂

Sleeping Beauty

Robins and sparrows
bringing the hedges
around my soul
to life.

Their singing
encourages
the butterflies
to dance.

The butterflies
of my soul
(all stages)
tango
along with my
lifelines.

The 13th fairy
groans
leaves the blues behind.

her soft wings
touch,
like the prince’s
kiss,
awakens me.
