Good Morning Writers! ~ Going to Extremes?

March 2019

I have slowed down a lot since last year but maybe it is too much now????

October 2014

How are you? How is your writing going? Are you hurrying along or do you feel in balance with the speed of your life?

I so often feel the need to slow down lately. Not just functioning like a robot with all the tasks life and myself throw at me. So often I feel a little outside my body and totally fractured. Especially if I write for all the projects I want to write for, do the household, be there for my family and friends and go to the day job.
For several years I have been occupied with blogging every day and I enjoyed it. I was thinking about my fantasy novel and lately about writing for others too. But then a turning point came. Not quite sure where it started but from writing all the time I went to slowing down and writing less and less.
Now, I feel like I cannot get back into the writing but it is more a question of getting the balance right. I seem to go from one extreme to the other. And I wonder what that is. I also wonder if others feel that need for slowing down and just sitting and being too. Is it just me? Is it a bad sign or a good one? Where will it lead me?
I would love to hear from you. What is your speed of life and do you want to slow down too? What do you think?

  1. My pace has changed in that i have taken on side work in the past 6 months. It makes me feel more financially secure, which is good, but I’ve had to give up a lot of movies and books, which is a bit sad. I still squish in a lot of blogging because that’s quick, but big chunks of free time now I give to paying work.
