Hello out there, how are you? I hope your Tuesday is rocking and rolling and that no negativity is bugging you. Let’s roll with some good news, shall we???
In December this post by the Good News Network got my attention: At long last, smallest Californian Native Tribe has land to call their own
According to the article, the tribe is so decimated that the Bureau of Indian Affairs denied them the status of a recognised tribe. However, other Californian organisations stepped in with funds to help them buy to them sacred land back so they now have a home once more.
If you do not know much about the Esselen people you are probably not the only one. I hadn’t heard of them until I read the article. Unfortunately, this good news apparently isn’t worth mentioning much elsewhere either because I did not find any video about it. But there are two great videos about the history and life of the Esselen people that help you understand more. Please enjoy and if the videos don’t play here on the blog visit the links underneath which lead you to their YouTube location.
This post takes part in “Good News Tuesday” inspired by JoAnna on “Anything Possible”. I found this story over at the Good News Network. Please head over to both and find more uplifting news.
Happy Tuesday to you all!!!!!
