      1. Sadly a recurring theme in Human History.
        Recently I ran into a couple of unpleasant characters who claimed to be British Brexiteers and were celebrating in an abusive way
        When I quoted Walpole ‘They are ringing bells now. Soon they will be wringing their hands’ and cited the War of Jenkins Ear.(Against Spain popular to begin with, overall we lost)
        One fellow was blank.
        The other said ‘we beat the Spanish. You wanna go back to school’
        I asked him in which war?
        He didn’t reply.
        They don’t even know their own history.

      2. Of course they don’t otherwise they wouldn’t have voted for Brexit, I assume. Some of the Brexiteers abroad are figuring out now that their easy life is over and they have to apply for citizenship otherwise have to come back. I absolutely fail to understand how you can live in another European country and think Brexit is a brilliant idea. But hey, what do I know 🙋‍♀️🐝
