A love song from the year we started school
I still can’t figure why I chose this school theme throughout this “Love Is In Da Blog” but hey, let’s roll with it anyway 🙂 .
Have to admit that I didn’t do much research. 1977 is too foggy in my mind to remember anything so I just looked up a list of the Top 100 tracks in Germany in 1977 and one of my all-time favourite love songs popped up: Leo Sayer and “When I need you…”. No need for comment is there????? 😉

Wow … this is an oldie but goodie! Question … when you heard these songs as a young woman in Germany, were they in English, or German? Sorry to sound so ignorant, but I was just curious if they were, perhaps, dubbed, or if most Germans understood English. Good song … thanks, dear Bee! 🙋

Only TV and Films are dubbed in Germany. Songs were and are in English but not everyody’s English is good enough to understand them. You mainly enjoy the melody. Nowadays you can go on the Internet and find a translation but in the olden days you had to translate them yourself if you wanted to know. That is one part of how I learned English. I translated the songs I liked. 🙋♀️🐝
