When your mind travels strange musical paths (this post is not suitable for readers under 18, sorry)

Hello out there, how are you today? I hope you are well and if not that you find all the help you need. Remember, no matter how bad it feels at the moment your situation changes constantly. Even pain isn’t always the same.

I didn’t realise that I hadn’t scheduled a post this morning. Not that it matters but I like to have a post up every morning. I am still figuring out what it is I want to write about. Also, still trying to figure out how I can manage to develop sustainable habits that help me get everything done.

Yes, I know, I have cancer and surely have other things to worry about. Namely chemotherapy tomorrow. But hey: This is my life, and I can worry about what I want 😉 . I wrote it before (or maybe will write in tomorrow’s post. Who knows…) : I do not want to give cancer this much power over my life.

What on earth does all this have to do with my mind’s strange travelling paths? Well, it is quite an unconventional way of seeing things when you have cancer, and all you worry about is if you have your blog posts up in the morning.

But the reason I wrote this headline is, in fact, music videos. The husband and I enjoyed some quality time together this morning and had a music channel on. They played a couple of video’s, and I started to wonder if the imagery they used gave credit to other musicians which might have inspired them.

Ok, some examples for you:

Here is Ella Henderson’s “Take care of You”. Can you figure out why I think she might like Alison Morissette?

You have to watch it quite to the end to see a connection with Morissette’s “Isn’t it ironic”.

This song was often on my mind in the last couple of months. It fits somehow to my situation and is one of my favourites anyway.

The next one might be a little more far fetched. I just can’t help being reminded of Michael Jackson when I see the start of Post Malone’s “Goodbyes”.

Just to compare and just in case you are too young to remember this one 😉 .

Yes, I am out of the closet now: Very old woman blogging here LOL.

The next one simply annoys me to the core. I really, really thought after the #metoo movement no artist would make a video like that again. Can you think of which one my strange mind connect this one with?

Yes, it is the utterly thicke “Blurred Lines”… (no, that is not a typo, I did this on purpose ~ grrrrrr)

And a last video for your entertainment 🙂

I love Ava Max’s “Kings & Queens” but thought at first it was a Lady Gaga song.

However, there is a section in the video where I thought: “Whoa! Really? Robert Palmer?” even though Max’s version is quite different and so much more classy 😉

Oops again my age comes into play *giggle”

So, I better leave you alone with my strange connection making mind and all those controversial videos. But please tell me it’s not me who thinks this way. Please…please….please……

    1. Hi DG, thanks so much for your kind words. I am ok for the moment. Last time I started feeling worse when the steroids stopped which will be tomorrow. But I’ll be fine 🤗. I hope you and yours are well and you are not affected by fire or storms 🙋‍♀️🐝
