Hello, dear people of the blogosphere and of Love Is In Da Blog. I wish you a blessed day and spring straight into today’s prompt:
Aragorn and Arwen ~ Find a classical love piece and/or write a poem in your own invented language (With translation please )
or
Choose your Own.
The reason I chose a poem with your own invented language is that Tolkien invented the Elven language and some others too. Can’t remember if he was a linguist or if he was just interested in old languages. I had lots of fun with this one and chose to bring together the four languages I know or am learning: German, English, French and Dutch. I wrote a version of the poem in English and then translated it into the other languages. Well, I let Google translate it ;-). Then I alternated the words and the languages and then fiddled a little so it sounded ok. I leave you all versions at the end after “my own language” version:
Arwen
Arwen van soir,
Wie long hebje attendu?
Auf your liefde, ton Liebe
Your Vadder s’en va aber
You blieft achter pour Deine
Love, op ton Liebe
Bis you rouwt toujour.
And these are the other versions:
English
Arwen of the evening,
How long have you waited?
For your love.
For your love.
Your father is leaving
but you stay behind.
For your love.
For your love.
Until you grieve forever.
Dutch
Arwen van de Avond,
hoelang hebje gewocht?
Op je Liefde,
op je Liefde.
Je Vadder is vertrokken
mar je blieft achter.
Op je Liefde,
op je Liefde.
Tot je voor altijd rouwt.
French
Arwen du soir,
combien de temps as tu attendu?
Ton amour,
ton amour.
Ton pere s’en va
mais tu restes.
Pour ton amour,
pour ton amour.
Jusqu’a ce que tu pleurer pour toujour.
German
Arwen des Abends,
Wie lange hast Du gewartet?
Auf Deine Liebe,
auf Deine Liebe.
Dein Vater geht
aber Du bleibst.
Fuer Deine Liebe,
fuer Deine Liebe.
Bis Du fuer immer trauerst.
Ah, I love languages!
I wanted to use the Flower Duett for this post because Aragorn and Arwen meet on a flower meadow. But I also wanted to have a clip with a black opera singer and I could not find any with that song. So, I chose Carmen. Not that this fits the bill at all but hey, never mind 😉
Tomorrow, we’ll go back to the crude reality and an absolutely glamorous woman:
Jackie Kennedy & Aristotle Onassis ~ Find a love song from 1968 and/or write a free verse poem about love
or
Choose your Own
Now dear Love Is In Da Bloggers
go, find music, write poetry
and have lots of fun!!!!

Just one more thing before you go: The hospital that treated me for breast cancer in 2020 is fundraising for a dedicated breast cancer unit which would allow some same-day diagnosis and better premises for patients and staff.
Please, if you can spare a little money hop over to their Just Giving Page and give as little or much as you can. Or share the page on your social media. So far the campaign has raised about half the amount needed: £421,666 of £800,000 (January 2021).
Your support means a lot to me! Thank you very much.
Thanks, my dears, for staying with me until the end.
I appreciate your presence.
Please stay safe, stay kind and remember that you rock!
