… please be grateful. Unless, of course, it causes flooding…
The rapeseed field in front of our house burnt down this afternoon.

Thankfully, the fire service was there directly and got it under control

But, good grief, was that terrifying! I want a good old British summer back with rain, cold and all!
It was also somehow hilarious because I was watching “Friends” on TV and the best husband called me from work asking if we were OK. You can see the house from where we work.

When he took me back from work we saw the field behind our house being harvested and I said:” it’s so dry it’s a field fire waiting to happen…” but I didn’t see that one coming. Literally π€

Please, stay safe, stay kind and remember: stay vigilant. π₯°

Liebe Deborah, danke Dir sehr fΓΌr Deine lieben Worte. π€

Wow that fire was getting too close to you! Glad they controlled it quickly before it spread. Terrible for the farmer who was growing the grain.

I hope they had insurance, too. What a shame for it all to go up in flames.
Well, we’re fine here. It’s very hot at 106 F right now at 5 p.m. Thankfully we have air conditioning and don’t have to get outside. Hope y’all are keeping cool, too. β€

Glad you can keep cool. I have AC at work but at home we do it the old-fashioned way: open windows at night and close curtains over day. Plus close to the cost there is always a bit of a breeze π₯°
