Hello, out there in this beautiful wide world. How are you? I hope you are well and, if not, that you get all the support you need. Since I looked into different countries’ history, geography etc., I have realised that I know nothing.

I was a teenager in the 1980s and often heard about the violence in Columbia on TV or radio news. I knew about drug cartels and the government’s attempts to create lasting peace. However, I did not realise how far back this violence went and what it was about. This video explains all of it very well. The best spent 20 minutes I’ve had in recent times:
