When The Mourning Doves Fly

On Sunday is International Kindness day and over at my Patreon page, I made “kind” or “kindness” our weekly poetry prompt. The video will go public in two weeks’ time both on Patreon & YouTube but my “Coffe, Cake & Chocolate” supporters can see it now.

It inspired this poem:

A Storm of dark moods
Encircle my inner boundaries
No light
At the end of the day
Too often gone there
To mourn
A life, a love, a planet.
When the mourning doves fly
We gather our courage.
When the mourning doves fly
We meet at the spiral.
When the mourning doves fly
We arm ourselves
With kindness, love & gratitude.

Please stay safe, stay kind and remember: to write a kindness poem 🤗
