Hello, Love Is In Da Bloggers, woa; the last week of Love Is In Da Blog 2023 is around the corner. What a ride. Such great music and so much fun. You truly rock!

And just in case, you haven’t seen our playlist just yet, here it is:

I can’t have a “Love Is In Da Blog” without sharing a German band. PUR was one of my favourites in my teens and twenties. It was the time of German rock, and many bands created socially aware songs. PUR, for example, wrote several songs about survivors of sexual abuse but also about loneliness when you are older. That is one of the songs that I chose today. “When She Hears This Tango” describes the life of a woman of my grandmother’s age who worked hard all her life to give their children a better life. When they thought they could retire often, their husbands passed away, and they had no chance to live their dreams.

This song always makes me cry. I will share the English translation of the lyrics after the video. PUR is a band from the area where I was born, and I had the chance to see some of their concerts before they were really big. That is always a unique experience. When I moved to the UK, I stopped listening to many German bands, but now and then, I look some of them up and listen. I chose a version from one of their live albums, and you can hear how devoted their fans are/were. They are always part of the show and sing their hearts out. I love it, and I hope you enjoy this one. The singer says at the beginning: “Recently they played the lovely Beatles song “When I’m 64″ on the radio, and I wondered how it would be when the gentlemen here on stage are too old to make music, and we sit together at 64 on a park bench and reminisce over all the great concerts we had. But if you have a look at people who are old nowadays, you have to feel pity because they are often very lonely. That does not need to be like that. We will be old one day, and we will be happy if someone looks after us….”

Hallo, Love Is In Da Bloggers, woa; die letzte Woche von Love Is In Da Blog 2023 steht vor der Tür. Was für eine Fahrt. So tolle Musik und so viel Spaß. Ihr rockt wirklich!

Ich kann keinen „Love Is In Da Blog“ haben, ohne eine deutsche Band zu teilen. PUR war einer meiner Favoriten in meinen Teenagern und Zwanzigern. Es war die Zeit des Deutschrocks, und viele Bands schufen sozialbewusste Songs. PUR zum Beispiel schrieb mehrere Songs über Überlebende sexuellen Missbrauchs, aber auch über die Einsamkeit im Alter. Das ist einer der Songs, die ich heute ausgewählt habe. „Wenn Sie Diesen Tango Hoert“ beschreibt das Leben einer Frau im Alter meiner Großmutter, die ihr ganzes Leben lang hart gearbeitet hat, um ihren Kindern ein besseres Leben zu ermöglichen, und als sie dachten, sie könnten in Rente gehen, ihre Ehemänner starben und sie keine Chance hatten ihre Träume zu leben.

Dieses Lied bringt mich immer zum Weinen. Ich werde die englische Übersetzung der Texte nach dem Video teilen. PUR ist eine Band aus meiner Geburtsgegend, und ich hatte die Gelegenheit, einige ihrer Konzerte zu sehen, bevor sie richtig groß wurden. Das ist immer wieder ein einmaliges Erlebnis. Als ich nach Großbritannien gezogen bin, habe ich aufgehört, viele deutsche Bands zu hören, aber hin und wieder schaue ich mir einige an und höre sie mir an. Ich habe eine Version von einem ihrer Live-Alben ausgewählt, und man kann hören, wie hingebungsvoll ihre Fans sind/waren. Sie sind immer Teil der Show und singen aus vollem Herzen. Ich liebe es, und ich hoffe, dass Ihr es auch genießt.
