Happy Saturday my Friends, I hope you are all well and if not that you can get all the support you need.
This year’s “Love Is In Da Blog” made me realize how much I miss taking part in blog events and so I try to get myself back into some of my favorites and some new ones too.
Saturdays are, of course, for Linda’s Stream of Consciousness Saturdays and this week’s prompt is this:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “wild animal.” Choose a wild animal (or many wild animals) and use it any way you’d like in your post. Enjoy!

I grew up in a household full of all sorts of music. My parents were great fans of the so-called “Liedermacher” which were songwriters who criticized the short comings of German society in the 60s and 70s. They often used old-fashioned German songs or mythical and historical topics to show what was really going on in Germany behind the scenes.
Every Friday evening my parents took us to my grandmother who lived about 20 minutes from us so we could spent the weekend there. On the way they listened to music and two songs that stuck with me were Reinhard Mey’s ” Kaspar Hauser” and Degenhards “Wölfe Mitten Im May”.
Wolves in the middle of May (Degenhard, translate via Google translate)
August the shepherd heard wolves
Wolves in the middle of May
Although only two –
But the shepherd who swears
They would have howled the food song together
That from before
And he screams
And his hat is dented
Yells: “Hurry, get the scythes or it will be too late
Kill them before the rooster crows three times!”
But who listens to old hat?
And is on guard –
And is on guard?
August the shepherd was never seen again
Just his old hat
Full of blood
sponge in the creek
The village witch child later has about ten
Discovered in the quarry at night
bloodstained
And the snouts in the wind!
The mother put a spell on the child’s mouth
Whispered: “Be quiet or you’ll die!
Who does not forget the big bad wolf, my child
always remains a child –
Always stay a kid!”
Already dogs snatched the wind, and in the Hag
Ray roses for carrion
No pig ate
Owls hunted in the day!
Chickens buried their eggs in the sand
Bacon in the muzzle went soft
From the pond
Carp crawled ashore!
The old men laughed toothlessly
Hissed: “We said so right away!
Fertilize the fields again with old manure
Otherwise everything is rubbish –
Otherwise it’s all rubbish!”
Then, at St. John’s, at the fire dance festival –
Today nobody knows how –
Have you been
Suddenly there!
They jumped out of branches into the dance circle – too fast
Bite brides in the grass
And too pale
The moon was shining – but bright
The fire of dry moss burned brightly
Burned the forest down to the river!
“Children, play – know of the smoke there
nothing
And also smell nothing –
And don’t smell anything either!”
“Now times are coming, they say
With the gold out of your mouth
Be smart and
Dig ditches around the house!
Give your daughters to the rudest servant –
The one who is still in need
Not just bread
breaks open with the teeth!”
So sang the filthy vendor’s tray
And praised amulets of wolf teeth!
“Wrap straw and barbed wire around your neck
And hold your neck –
And hold your neck!”
So what happened in the houses?
Bites in beam and bed!
What fat
Has the flue smeared?
Who gave the wolves the chalk, the flour
Did the paws dust white?
What goat
Did the goats bark?
And is there a seventh little kid hiding?
Were boulders discovered in the well?
Lots of questions that only one person wants to hear
who wants to disturb –
Who wants to disturb!
But that servant with the boar ailment –
Today a tourist destination –
know how much
There happened! But cheeky
He sits in the cage, eats black pudding and laughs
If you ask him – and only
Clock strikes zero
For St. John’s Eve
When the wheel of fire leaps from the mountains
The crowd of tourists happily sings the food song
If he bites the lattice wildly, he screams: “Enough of the song
It’s a nasty song –
It’s a nasty song!”
August the shepherd heard wolves
Wolves in the middle of May
More than two!
But the shepherd who swears
They would have howled the food song together
That from before
And he screams
And his hat is dented
Yells: “Hurry, get the scythes or it will be too late
Kill them before the rooster crows three times!”
But who listens to old hat?
And is on guard –
And is on guard?
Both songs terrified me especially because we drove through a long stretch of forest and of course, I knew Little Red Riding Hood.
Later in life, I started to work with spirit animal guides and the spirit of the wolf has become my constant teacher. Wolves are fascinating and misunderstood animals. Once I saw a documentary about Wolves in Yellow Stone Park and it said when the wolves came back all the other animal species started to thrive too because the balance between species was re-established.
So, when I heard that wild wolves were back in Germany I was both terrified and excited. Of course, they are a hit and much-discussed topic in Germany:
I asked my God mother once about wolves being back in the forest of my childhood and she simply said: “they are more afraid of us than the other way round. They don’t bother me. ” I have to admit I take her more for an authority than hunters 😂
If you want to know more about the wolves in Germany watch this fascinating documentary on YouTube
I once saw a pack in a wild life park and I felt sad that they didn’t have the freedom to roam where they wanted. I wish we could establish a lifestyle that allows us to live in harmony with every living thing on this beautiful planet.
Please stay safe, stay kind and remember: you rock!

glad for the wolves

Well, it depends whose going to win the argument: the hunters who want to cut the numbers or the conservationists who want to create an environment where all can thrive 🥰
