Happy new week, dear people of the blogosphere. I hope your world is kind and I go straight to
Glyn’s music event, “Mixed Music Bag” in which she asks us to share musicians whose name starts with the first letter of the month we are in. We are in April, so we’ll get to hear some great musicians starting with A. I post these posts really early and schedule most of them, so I have to add the link to Glyn’s posts later on. Please forgive me.
If the month starts with A, I have to add Auri another excellent Scandinavian band. I introduced you to them in February for “Love Is In Da Blog” but maybe let you know a little more again:
Auri is a Finnish band composed of vocalist and violinist Johanna Kurkela, keyboardist and backing vocalist Tuomas Holopainen, and guitarist, keyboardist and pipe player Troy Donockley.[4] Holopainen and Donockley are also members of Finnish band Nightwish.[2] Their self-titled first album, Auri, was released on March 23, 2018.[2][1] and was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios.[1]
Holopainen described Auri’s style as “rabbit hole music and celestial metal” with “influences from folk music, Celtic music, [and] soundtracks”. British rock magazine Prog describes the band as prog folk.[1] The band’s name is based on a female character from The Kingkiller Chronicle.[3]

I love their mythical and otherworldly style and this song is another beautiful example:
Gosh, life is so short and there is simply not enough time for all the great musik, books & art.
Which band starting with A do you like?
Please stay safe, stay kind and remember: you rock!

Das Album II – Those We Don’t Speak Of erschien am 3.

Very pleasant, Bee.

This is my kind of music, thank you for the introduction! I love this kind of ethereal music. They put me a little in mind of Faun, of whom I’m a big fan.

Oh, cool. I am glad you like them. Actually, Spotify introduced me to Auri because I was listening to Faun. I didn’t think many knew of them outside of Germany 🥰

Faun are very popular around the world, and have played in more than 30 countries, including here, the States and Russia. I’ve introduced my blog readers to them and they have been well received – especially the video for Walpurgisnacht 😉

Well, looks like I just listened to their Songs and didn’t see any further. How amazing. Thanks for enlightening me. And Walpurgisnacht is a great video ✨️

Happy to share that. Walpurgisnacht is a great song and I still don’t know how they got away with that video on YouTube!

Thank you for your eggcellent (Happy Easter) entry for this week’s Mixed Music Bag, Willow. Auri are a progressive folk band. Would you agree with that?

Absolutely, I think they also fall into Gothic Metal & Symphonic metal. You are welcome and thanks for hosting 🥰
