Over half of “Blogging from A-Z”, in which I do not take part, is over. Incredible how time flies. Also incredible that it is nearly a year since Olivia Newton-John passed away. Cancer is a sh**show, for sure. I was very sad when I heard of her passing as she was an incredible singer and actress. And activists for cancer prevention, which we still need very much. This reminds me: I think I have missed some “check your boobs” posts.

I was very happy when I found one of her songs that included a river. It’s a lovely little country tune, even though the lyrics are a little sad. I couldn’t find anything about the song, but here is something about her:

Newton-John, who battled breast cancer three times, was an advocate and sponsor for breast cancer research. In 2012, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre opened in her home town of Melbourne.[6] She also was an activist for environmental and animal rights causes.[7][8]

Blimey, battling breast cancer three times! I am not sure I would put up with the challenge a second time, but that always changes when you get the diagnosis. I still have a couple of months until the next mammogram. Sigh.

Über die Hälfte von „Bloggen von A-Z“, an dem ich nicht teilnehme, ist vorbei. Unglaublich, wie die Zeit vergeht. Auch unglaublich, dass es fast ein Jahr her ist, seit Olivia Newton-John gestorben ist. Krebs ist sicher eine Scheiße. Ich war sehr traurig, als ich von ihrem Tod hörte, da sie eine unglaubliche Sängerin und Schauspielerin war. Und Aktivistin für die Krebsprävention, die wir noch sehr brauchen. Das erinnert mich daran: Ich glaube, ich habe einige „Check your boobs“-Beiträge verpasst.

Verdammt, dreimal gegen Brustkrebs kämpen! Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich mich der Herausforderung ein zweites Mal stellen würde, aber das ändert sich immer, wenn man die Diagnose bekommt. Ich habe noch ein paar Monate bis zur nächsten Mammographie. Seufzen.
