So important you should read this poem daily, in my opinion.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak outā Because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak outā Because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak outā [ā¦]

Someone can be sitting in their most comfy surroundings, thinking ‘it’s a shame what’s going on but what can I do? Anyway they won’t come for me,’
Then one day ‘They’ come for your children, or another close relative or most dearest friend.
If by inaction ‘They’ are allowed to, ‘They’ will come for everyone, one way or another.
It is a common failing that some folk adopt anti-social symbols and behaviour just to slight others.
It is also another and very common failing that more folk will not look beyond the surface of history to learn its warnings.
Add to those the current cult of the Conspiracy junkies (be they on the right or the left) and we have a storm of ignorance.
